Ashi Acupuncture for Low Back Pain & Sciatica - A practical, hands-on weekend for acupuncturists who want better results with glutes, piriformis, QL, and the rest of the low-back/sciatica picture.

If you are not consistently getting great results with sciatica and low back pain, this course is for you.

“The last Booty Camp was so transformative for my practice - I can’t thank you enough!”
-Nathan W.

Sciatica is one of the most common complaints in clinic — and one of the conditions Ashi Acupuncture excels at. If you are new to Ashi work, this is an ideal place to start. If you already treat these cases, this weekend is for tightening up your palpation, needling, and clinical decision-making.

Class size is limited to 16 so you actually get enough supervised practice to take the work home and use it the following Monday.

Dates & Location:
Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM daily

Homewood Suites by Hilton Sacramento Airport – Natomas
3001 Advantage Way, Sacramento, CA 95834

Walking distance to restaurants. Free airport shuttle available at the hotel.

What You’ll Learn:

  • The basic pathology of Ashi (trigger) points from TCM and Western perspectives

  • Core concepts of needling Ashi points in general, and sciatica/low-back points in particular

  • Differential diagnosis so you don’t waste time treating the wrong thing

  • Relevant anatomy of the gluteals, piriformis, deep hip rotators, QL, erectors, multifidi/rotatores, and sacral ligaments

  • Palpation for diagnosis and treatment

  • Patient positioning, prep, and how to adjust points during the course of care

  • Adverse reaction awareness and management

  • Plenty of supervised hands-on needling practice

This is lecture-supported, but practice-heavy. The point is not to watch a demo and hope you remember it. The point is to feel it, needle it, and get coached in real time.

Why This Format Works:
I’ve been to plenty of seminars where the technique looks worthwhile, but there isn’t enough practice time to actually integrate it. This weekend is built the opposite way.

I’m limiting the group to 16 individuals and I’ll have my top student Andre Byke assisting — the practitioner who completed my California-approved tutorial program, passed the licensing exam, and now runs a successful practice using this work. That means more eyes on your hands and more feedback while you’re needling.

Instructor:
Eric Schanke, L.Ac.
Author of Ashi Acupuncture: Advanced Needling Techniques. I’ve practiced Ashi-style acupuncture almost exclusively since 1997, taught at multiple acupuncture colleges, and supervised students through licensing. This seminar is built from what actually works in the clinic.
